Snowboarding in Kimberly

Our Weekend Boarding in Kimberly,
"Beautiful" British Colombia
February 2, 2008

We spent last weekend in Cranbrook BC, which is about 3 and a half hours southwest of Calgary, with Quinn's brother Kelly and his family, for a weekend of snowboarding. We made a pit stop in Fernie, B.C. for something to eat & the snow was unbelievable. It was piled so high all around us as we drove through the streets and parking lots it was difficult to see where we were going! It was a long drive with weather like this to contend with, the road conditions and traffic were terrible, but we made it to Cranbrook eventually safe and sound!

To help put the depth of the snow into perspective, we parked in front of one wall to see how it stacked up! They got hammered that weekend....but that is what Fernie is known for...tons of snow and just as many skiers and boarders to enjoy it! The place was crazy with people. Lucky for us we werent those people. We made our way further west.

Me & my cousin Payton. I'm ready to hit the slopes!

Mom making her way down the hill.

Dad enjoying the view from the lift!

This is me Ashton, trying to remember what I learned last year! I''m a little rusty but that's ok. I have lots of time to get better. My instructor said I was the youngest guy on the whole hill that day boarding. He said most kids dont start until they are 7 years old. Guess I'm getting a head start!

Tiff, I love your darling page! It looks like you all had a great weekend snowboarding. I will say I am jealous. I want to get out and do that again. (I haven't been back since we went with you guys) It looks like fun to be out and about enjoying the snow. Quite frankly I'm sick of it!
